I have known Amanda for approximately 5 years now and she has always been an extremely reliable and dedicated teacher. Amanda is a well respected member of my team here at Bohunt School and has achieved fantastic success with Rockschool Grades, entering over 300 students in all during her time with us.  To my knowledge Amanda has only ever had one student fail throughout her 8 years at Bohunt and has expanded rock and pop singing from 1.5 days when she first started to 4/5 days now which she shares with another vocal teacher. Amanda is responsible for all her own registers and administration and is fully conversant with all the computer programmes offered in our Music Department including the use of Cubase for recording purposes.  Amanda’s previous experience as a PA in the legal world has served her well and her reports at the end of each term are of the highest standard, both with regard to presentation and punctuality. Amanda has a vast amount of experience in this business as a professional singer for over 20 years, she is very well equipped to deal with all the usual vocal technique issues and is extremely knowledgeable in her field. Mandy is extremely popular with the students and I would like to include a small reference for one of her female students who has just taken grade 8 and passed with distinction:- “I have had singing lessons with Amanda for 4 years and my confidence has improved considerably. Amanda always gives positive advice and is a friendly, bubbly teacher, who makes lessons interesting and fun. I’ve really enjoyed my singing lessons with Amanda Russell; she is always enthusiastic, helpful and inspiring and she has greatly helped me to improve as a singer. When I was cast as Tracy Turnblad in “Hairspray”, Ms Russell’s lessons were invaluable in helping me to prepare and practice for the singing required by the role. Knowing I could sing the songs meant I was confident and able to give my best performance each night. I look forward to my singing lessons each week because I know that they will be fun and enjoyable as well as challenging.

Amanda Russell, who looked as if she was probably used to fronting a jazz band. On this occasion she performed solo, aided by sterling work from Watson and co, and a version of Celine Dion’s hit Think Twice produced whoops and hollers of approval from the Showcall regulars. In short, a huge performance here from a very classy lady.

I am so glad that Amanda has joined our team of peripatetic teachers here at Frensham Heights.  She has added a much needed Rock and Pop syllabus and although she has only been with us a short time has already built up a full day of students. I look forward to the first set of exams and would recommend Amanda highly, she is always very professional, punctual and enthusiastic.
